Description
The laptop lights the face of the girl that I loveas I lay wrapped in my blue blanket
and I’m happy that
I’m the one she cares for
and she’s the one I dare for
a possible future together.
There’s a silent ballet as she shifts in her sleep
and I lay a hand on her head
and I notice that
her eyelids flutter gently
as I whisper silently
“I wish I could stay”
into her listening ear.
The night that we tried to hold onto
faded away into day far too fast
But there’s no kind of mystery
about our recent history
because waking, I could still feel
her kiss on my lips.

I would also like to add that the word "wrapped" in line 2 can be read as "wrapped" or "rapt". I picked the first spelling randomly, but both are accurate and work.
