Description
I was born to the rhythm of the sea.Swimming before I could walk,
the slop of waves on a boat hull
was my first lullaby.
I grew up to the rhythm of the sea.
Counting the days to May,
when we uncapped paint and varnish
I thought it was as sweet as perfume.
I left the rhythm of the sea.
No longer floating for hours in a chlorine pool,
I braided my hair and learned to punch
and left the beaches behind.
I returned to the rhythm of the sea
Diving into cold salt oceans,
I floated for forevers
Not wanting to leave the rhythm of the sea.
