It was announced yesterday that you transferred
to some private school a few towns over
maybe in the city?
The sad thing was, you’d been gone for some time,
a month, I think.
And nobody noticed really.
There are a few spots where you still exist,
roaming the halls of our school.
In your journal for English
with the yellow Spongebob tape
and the “Will Rocks!! ” that you wrote on my binder
as well as my blue pen you borrowed in Science one day
and promptly broke, twice, but it’s still usable.
And they’ll fade away eventually
to the custodian’s cleaner
and the trash.
