When you're a painter, one of the best things about also having a camera is that you can have an archive of photos to use as references. I snapped a couple of shots of these old trees at Wall Springs Park to use the next time I want to put a ragged old tree in a painting.On a side note, there are not nearly enough of these kinds of trees being left in parks. These are prime habitat for woodpeckers and birds of prey and need to be preserved.
