I understand the want to help people who are depressed, but sadly it doesn't always work that way. When it comes to depression sometimes the only things that work are things like medication, coping mechanisms, or even just time. That said it's always good to still be there for people who suffer from depression. I know that I certainly appreciate people being there for me even if they can't cheer me up.
