Yus. You can tell what the assignment kinda was. Draw a fruit, then take some tracing paper, draw a grid, and chart out the values... we could only use five values, though, 1 being the lightest and five being pure black.

The effect was that pixelated jigamathinger on the right... it doesn't look like anything up close, but if you stand at the other side of the room it really looks like an apple. Weird.
