Description
Following the initial invasion and the defeat of the Chig 1st and 2nd fleets, the UNF now struggled to get enough ships to The Groombridge and Proxima systems where the fighting was now ongoing. To replace the Langley class carriers lost in the fighting so far, UNF admiralty requested a class of ship that could carry a squadron of fighters but also defend itself against Chig warships if needed. Aerotech designed and built the Durango class in 8 months, originally designated a heavy destroyer, the Durango was fitted with a box landing bay under the primary hull just big enough to house a squadron of SA-43 strike fighters. Carrying Railguns, VLS launchers and PDW turrets, the Durango Class were thrown at Chig logistics bases and shipping lanes beyond the Sirius and Epsilon Eridanus systems in Op Goshawk. Alongside her stablemates the Endurance and Aeolus classes, the Durango inflicted much damage on the Chig rear areas and brought back valuable data on an enemy that so far no one had any information on at all.

Yes its another ship from Wing commander but the design aesthetic from WC3&4 fits so well with the narrative of build ships fast.
