Haven't really thought much about what soho would use his magic primarily for- after thinking about it a bit I thought something along the lines of finding things would be it.

I'm thinking it'd take a form similar to a compass and if he has a idea of what he's looking for his magic can give him a idea of where its general location is (not pinpoint!)
I like the idea of him having a similar intuition as Walter from The Finder, and his magic forming around it
