Description
Something Iβve been working on to give to my Grandmother. My Mom liked this bookmark idea so she suggested I make a rose for Mother Dear (Grandma). Since I havenβt painted in a while I decided to try out my watercolors. I think I feel more comfortable with them now that my awkwardness towards them has gone away.Related content

Yeah, they are. For the purpose of the exercise I just needed something quick to draw and practice with. Had this been a final I would have varied the shapes of the flowers, which I will be doing for the bookmark. Thanks.

This paints are Winsor & Newton: Cotman WaterColours. They came as part of a large art kit when I started college; I majored in graphic design. We never used them, though. :/

Studied; not really. We actually weren't taught how to paint. We were given a brush and told to 'just go for it'. We were left to our own devices which amounted to training ourselves. Some things don't require a formal education and painting is one of them; so you don't have to worry.

Oh yeah. If you mess up one there's no harm done, you just move on the next one.

This almost irritates me XD
I'm terrified of watercolors. I'm a very meticulous perfectionist artist and take forever/lots of buildup to get what I want, but you simply CANNOT be that way with watercolors! And I can never avoid making everything blotchy D:

Same here. They're hard lessons to learn which is why I didn't deal with any paint for over a decade. It wasn't until college when I picked them up again, but only because I was forced to. Now it doesn't feel all that bad.
