Hampton’s Leader of Vienne high rank tryout!

The grey snow leopard had been walking through the streets of his beautiful Vienne, a horrid stench coming across his nose. He gagged, unsure what could possibly be causing the nose-murder. Tracking it into a back street empty of cats and people, he saw a stray’s corpse. His stomach turned, his body freezing. Hampton had never seen death, let alone so close. Panting with fear, his pale orange eyes began to scan the body. This cat had clearly starved to death, hunger and fear in its faded brown eyes. It looked like a snow leopard, but he couldn’t be sure. Terrified, he turned and bolted into the streets.
Gathering his thoughts, he took forceful deep breaths to calm down. His eyes welled with tears, giving a slight blur to his vision. He wanted to cry for his mother, she always knew what to do or say - But… Hampton was grown. Certainly a mama’s boy, but still a grown cat. He needed to take things into his own paws; but how? Walking up to a food stand, he bought some meat to sooth his nerves. Just then, a strange looking, tailless lion strode by. Clearly a stray, dirty and thin. The snow leopard folded his ears back, a sinking feeling in his stomach. “Excuse me-“ He called out, getting the lion’s attention. Pausing, the lion turned to see Hampton grab a cut of meat and approach him. “Here, take this. You need it more than I do.” He carefully let the lion grab it from his maw, a delighted grin on the lion’s face. “Thank you so much, sir!”
With a nod, the tailless cat slipped into the crowd and disappeared. Hampton felt his stomach flutter, it felt good. As he began to wonder how else he could help, a flier drifted through the air and landed by his paws. Leaning down to read it, he saw it was an ad for a new Vienne leader to be chosen! That’s how he’ll help more cats in need! Picking up the paper in his maw carefully, he darted off to apply. He had to tell mama and Nuri! They’d be so proud of him if he was accepted. He had never been so excited in his life, every step felt lighter than normal. He felt almost giddy, having never been in love this was a nice and new feeling. He wanted to be a cat others could be proud of, and so he headed off.
