This was taken on one of my hikes. Because I worked on the tones and brought out the red of his jacket, I wanted to put it in the darkroom category, which I can no longer find to submit to.
So since it is a tad bit more then a photograph but not a photomanipulation in any regards to others I have done....really it was mostly just tone working. I have put it in this category. If someone has a better category, please let me know.
When I saw him walking, pausing as he did, against the path ahead and the red jacket, it just fit my imagination of a scene from a unknown Grimms' Fairy tale...if you know what I mean. Enjoy!

This gives a sense of hopelessness, or like a mid-life crisis after one's parent dies and one is in a state of shock and his or her life pauses. I like it a lot.
