I'm horrible. Horrible.
But I can't tell you how many times I almost wrote something like this. Ever since I first saw the movie. Either a one-shot or part of Hitchups or...whatever. It's crossed all your minds. Don't deny it.

The question is really whether humans would be affected by it at all- but the dragons certainly would. I think in one of my fanfictions it turned out to be something totally mundane for humans and used in their cooking, but it would make dragons go all goofball.
It would certainly have been a funny way to tame the dragons in "Hitchups"
I have to admit, the idea never came to my mind, but then my mutant brain is thinking of humor in other dimensions. Maybe I didn't think of it because the grass looked so wet and juicy and green in themovie it seemed like it would be too damp to actually get it to catch on fire. So Hiccup will have to wait until the fall when the grass goes dry and brown and then he can burn down the field. It also gives some more time to go into the future and find Bob Marley and bring him back in time for the night so there will be appropriate music for the ensuing sky high event. I think Marley would surely bond with a Thunderdrum (my favorite of the book dragons)
Actually, I really like how you've made the grass. Did you use real images of grass blades and incorporate them into the picture?

I like to think of it as having some effect on humans when chemically altered, just for giggly purposes

The grass I used a technique similar to the face-stealing one *ch4rms taught me. It's a few layers of colors and smudging with a screen-cap from the movie I used as inspiration and overlay. I like how the grass came out too

Yeh- Marley was on my mind. There is a great documentary being released about him in movies this weekend- it's gotten really good reviews. I love Thunderdrums and hope they make into a future HTTYD movie or TV series. They cued me into how much thought the moviemakers put into making a whole biology class of dragons. The idea of a dragon that does not fly or breathe fire and yet it's still classed as a dragon because it still has a breath weapon as a concussive blast. I don't think a human could ride one, but they'd be a neat guardian to sail alongside Viking ships and protect their humans.
Thanks for sharing the tips on the grass. That sounds like a neat thing to try.

I know! Right? I came so close to having Hiccup do something like that in Hitchups. I was going to have Toothless light up the Dragon Grass field to attract all the dragons away from the Demon's allure. And then I was going to have him loiter a little too close and sort of end up blazed out of his mind.

Fields were sometimes burned after lying fallow for awhile or were infested with pests.

Yes, it is a way to get stoned. For dragons it works dry, but for humans it's the smoke that gets em. Or so that's my theory
