Description
A gift for ~felypsa of her character, Amnesia. Amnesia is a vile, despicable, evil thing. This image is symbolic. She is seen lying on a branch, and though she is blind and unable to see it, can sense growth at the end of the dead branch and knows that flowers have grown on them. She finds herself in a moment of weakness as she contemplates what beauty is like, and ruefully wonders if she is beautiful.Critiques are most welcome.

Aside from the beautiful artwork.... that is quite a touching scenario, and an intriguing moment of contemplation. Very well done.

Quite honestly, I've never looked through the pixel art section of DA, but I saw this and was shocked by the detail and quality. I've always been uninterested in it because of the grainy, less detailed and non realistic quality I've seen in most pixel art. I didn't really think badly of the artists, I just thought that it was impossible to do better because of the limited nature of using pixel by pixel, color by color to make a small representation. That it was just a limitation of size and tool. Seeing this work, I realize that anyone who can create pixel art like this above is both extremely talented AND extremely skilled and hardworking. It's one thing to use a brush, a stroke, and some color to create traditional art. But to take pixels and do this, it's amazing. You've greatly enhanced my respect of pixel art, so I thank you, Aveilthe.

Truly you should take a look at pixelart more, there is an astonishing collection out there as ^vanmall pointed out... As a matter of fact I was going to link you to ~fool too, he is an incredible pixel artist and someone who inspires my art a great deal. He's a pixelart guru! Haha Anyway thanks so much for taking the time to comment, it means a great deal to me.
I hope you have a wonderful day today!

I saw that pic from ~fool. Blew my mind. I couldn't do something like that but it's fascinating that some people have the patience and strength of will to do this. But I guess for those that do this, it's not all about willpower since they enjoy making it. It's like being amazed at people who make microscopic sculptures- it's hard to imagine myself with such long hours of focus. I'd be asleep in 2 seconds flat! THanks for introducing me to this stuff!

There are many good pixel artist who make very realistic pictures. For example, look at this [link] . I'm glad that you know a bit more about pixel art now.

that pic blew my mind. I gotta say I know this is something I might have the ability to do physically, but I could never do this because I don't have the mental patience and fortitude to endure it. I really respect that most of all in pixel artists. When I am looking at something really close up in photoshop, seeing the pixels. I cannot for the life of me see how you can make heads or tails of it all. It's so flipping cool that people can do this.

This is absolutely beautiful. Great attention to detail. The fur and feathers look very soft and touchable, while he branch looks rough and hard. The only thing that I would change is adding a distinctive light source. It looks great the way it is though! Congrats on the DD. It is well deserved.
