To commemorate a recent playthrough of Journey... one of my most memorable. What I'm about to write may seem absolutely goofy and geeky, but you'll probably only understand if you play Journey. Also, possible spoilers ahead.

It's quite a long story, actually. I wanted the white cloak so I went back to play it again, and managed to get all the white symbols without help, except for the last one. It was a pain to find, so I cheated and looked it up. I don't think I would have ever found it if it weren't for me cheating. This was achieved the day before I decided to play again, the same day I pixeled these two.

The two characters featured here is mine and the other belongs to a fellow journeyer. We met a little more than halfway into the game, I think around the Underground or Vertical Temple level. I was shocked to find a fellow white-cloaked journeyer and hoped we could stick around. What were the odds that two white cloaks would meet? (Turns out the odds are good because almost everyone and their aunt has achieved the white cloak by now...)

Sure enough, through thick and thin, we were stuck like glue and were not far from each other. When we were at the level with the searching Guardians in the snow, my fellow was caught twice. The second time, I thought I had lost my partner for good. I was scared and brokenhearted to think that I'd be left to skirt around the Guardians alone. I should note that I am such a scaredy cat and don't do well on stressful moments in games.

Then, there by the archways, I saw my partner chirping for me and I chirped frantically back. I don't think my partner realized how utterly relieved I was.

One of the sweetest moments I think was at the end when we finally reached the summit. In the height of sappy emotion, I drew a few hearts in the sand (some were fail hearts...) I even tried writing "LOL" but that also failed on epic proportions... I was impressed when my partner drew the Star of David. That is how I nicknamed our characters, Heart and Star.

What made this moment even more epic is that, not long after, I received a message from someone here on Deviantart expressing her thanks for the journey. It just melted my heart that not only was I found, but I was so happy to meet the one whom I finished this amazing game with.

This is for you, fellow Journeyer. I hope to see you on the sands again one day.
