Description DAY 274

Now we come to the most haunting month of the year, October. That means there's a quarter left in 2016's lifespan and only 92 entries left. To start this month off, we have another anniversary (2 in fact, but that's another day). Opened on this day in 1971 in Orlando Florida, 45 years ago, Walt Disney World: the second theme park Disney created. Now the history of this park is a little hard to talk about without repeating myself (at a future date). Long story short, after Walt made Disneyland, he wanted to make another theme park with an original concept, but people really wanted him to make a Disneyland clone. It was then compromised for 2 parks to be made. So the swamps of my hometown Florida were bulldozed to the ground and the Florida Project was underway. Concepts and announcement videos were all set and ready to go, but just as it was getting started, that's when Walt died. Even when it shook up the world, the company still moved on and at least completed the Disneyland clone park, naming it Walt Disney World in honor of him. Ever since it opened, it's become known as the best theme park in all of Florida. Most say better than Disneyland because of how much room they can expand and even though I can't really get into that too much since I've never been to Disneyland... I'm Floridian so I gotta say yes. But just like Disneyland, is started off as just the Magic Kingdom, but in decades to come, many, MANY changes have been made; not only just new attractions, but turning it into a full-blown resort. Gold courses and hotels, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, water parks, Animal Kingdom, DownTown Disney and so much more. Disneyland is known as "the happiest place on earth", Disney World is known as "the place where dreams come true". As for personal experience, what else is there to say? We've all been there many a thousand times and loved every minute of it. I think my first visit was during the park's 25th anniversary when I was 2 years old. There's so much to admire both as a regular theme park visitor and a technical level. My family still goes there once a year and even if its "a weekend at a hotel" type of trip or a "one day then go home", it's always a great pleasure.
