Description
This is a fan art of the opening scene in the original Ninja Gaiden game created in 1989 by Techmo. I painted this for a monthly art competition where the goal was to re-create a scene or sprite from a pre-1990 video game. Back in those days games were thin on cinematic. However, I did remember this epic scene which for it's time was an incredible cinematic.

This is my first ever digital artwork and my first ever attempt at making art with color. I have only ever done gray scale sketches in the past.

I do not own Ninja Gaiden or the characters depicted in these works. The original character and scene design belongs to Techmo and were created by Hideo Yoshizawa and Masato Kato
