Personality and Backstory
Personality : Marigolddapple is a bubbly, sociable molly with a knack for hunting and boosting morale. She prefers to avoid serious topics such as death and battle, often avoiding friends who have recently experienced loss. This makes her a bit unpopular in the clan and makes her seem immature and never serious.
She loves making others happy and hanging around cats she likes but often inadvertently crosses into being annoying. This, in turn, causes her to have bouts of sadness that usually last a few days or so.
Marigolddapple is very emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve, so to speak. And it’s always obvious what she feels. If she’s upset, her tail drags and she sulks in the corners of camp. If she’s happy, there’s a spring in her step and she tends to talk loudly and quickly. And so on and so on
She’s also very oblivious, not realizing things that are obvious to other cats (example: as an apprentice, she didn’t realize the moss she had gotten for the elders had sharp pieces of bark in it, prompting a scolding and plenty of tears)
She’s a huge romantic, crowing about how nice it would be to fall in love with a cat and have kits and become old together in the elder’s den! She has a tendency to loudly ask a clanmate if they are going to become mates with a cat they show a liking to, but she has since gotten better with that habit
All in all, a good molly with a good heart, if not a bit immature and oblivious

Backstory : Born to Yellowstripe and Shadetail, Marigolddapple was mostly raised by her mother while her father was quite distant. They were a fairly traditional couple, with her father not really taking part in her kithood. While her mother could be a bit strict and her father awkward and stilted in the times he did interact with her, she didn’t have many complaints as a kit. That is, until her mother on patrol from falling into the gorge mere days before she was apprenticed.
Suddenly, her father was snippish and angry to her, sending her off before she could talk to him. He grew cold and bitter in his grief, more and more distant by the day. Marigoldpaw attempted anything she could to cheer him up; sharing funny details about her day, giving him (terrible) advice on finding a new mate, and telling him the worst jokes imaginable. However, he always snapped at her and sent her on her merry way. This was when Marigoldpaw decided she wouldn’t let another cat feel the way she did at that time; sad, stressed, and very, very alone.
She got along fairly well with the other apprentices, and even her mentor. He was a kind soul, although very old. He taught her the ways of the clans, how to hunt, how to fight, how to socialize, and basically became her dad. Whenever she messed up a fighting move or didn’t catch that mouse, he’d correct her and correct her until she got it right and then offer praise. He even showed her how to collect flower and keep them healthy in a small puddle of water. She felt happier with him than she had felt in a long time.
But all good things must come to an end, and Barktail died from a greencough outbreak. The next day, Marigoldpaw was given her warrior name in order to boost morale. While she once more felt lost and alone without her father figure in her life, it seems to work okay, as now the clan seems a little happier with a new, healthy warrior in their ranks.

So, she swears to herself that night during her vigil that she won’t ever let anyone in the clan feel like she has been feeling her entire life. She will help make then clan a better place, one peppy conversation at a time.
