The sun was high on the clear blue sky, when Lemmitty streched herself. Some little cottonlike clouds lazily moved across she sky as she closed her eyes and inhaled. Today was a good day. A great day to start. Not warm, but not too cold yet. She nudged the pale pup at her side.
'Come on, XXX. It's time to start your adventure.'

Ears twitching XXX rolled into a tighter ball, causing the berry red longmane to smile a little. It was a wonderful time, being a pup. All days where just fun and play. Yet XXX still had to learn. And Lemmitty wanted to start the pups training. For which she had chosen an easy start. Just a little explore in this wonderful weather.

This nudge was a little firmer, her dark nose digging into the silky soft fur of the young pup. XXX sneezed and blinked. Very slowling lifting HISHER head and letting out an extensive yawn, XXX got up in slow motion. Stretching a few time HESHE sat down. Sleepy eyes watched Lemmitty with a slightly wagging tail.
'Adventure?'

Finally the words seemed to drop into the pale pups mind. Within a milisecond HESHE jumped up, the formerly sleep and wobbly body full of energy. The barely noticeable wag had turned into a frenetic movement, causing HISHER whole back to shake from left to right.
A small laugh escaped Lemmittys lips as she shook her head.

'Pups... well yes. It's time for you.'
Sitting down her smile sticked to her face
'Sooo, before we begin, we'll make sure we are in our best shape.'

'Mom just brushed my fur before my nap! And I had a bath yesterday!!'

'And you think that is what equipes you for the wild?'

A mild amusement swung with her words, leaving XXX to tilt HISHER head. Thinking intensely HISHER face turned into the most adorable expression possible. It took a moment or two, but then HESHE slowly shook HISHER head.
'No...To be fit for the wild and an explore, we need to be... healthy! alert!'

'Fed, had a drink' Lemmitty added with a pleased nod
'I had some food and a drink before my nap, I'm good!'
The proud smile warmed Lemmittys heart. With a swift movement she stood up and rubbed her head against the pale pup
'Good, let's go then'

XXX immediately dashed off towards the forest. HISHER excitement was refreshing. And made Lemmitty speed up some more. She was experienced enough to know not to spent all her engery now. But she also had planned a little break for XXX. Her plan was to walk up to a small clearing on a nearby mountain. Snow would most likely be there, a nice surprise and lesson for XXX. And a great spot to spent some time and simply enjoy the smell of pinetrees and snow. A place that reminded her of her time in the wild. Of her home... her... birthplace. A thought that always filled her heart with joy and sadness. By now she knew, being with humans was a much better life for a delicate soul like herself. But sometimes she missed running with the pack. The freedom and the thrill.

For a moment she turned her head back to the tribe. Her own pups and grandpups where here. Home is where the heart is, was something she never felt so true as in moments like this.
