little would i admitto have suspected nothing
little would i have gained
if i accepted exception
little would i know
if the sky werent so clear tonight
little would i care
if the contrast between you and this traffic
was nothing more
than the color of these lights
or the speed of its direction
advancing white
refusing red
little would i grow
if i expected nothing so fair
more than this awkward pose
stance that tells me the streetlights are almost out
little would i notice
if the sky lay there, crying
the road wet and trodden
screeching to a halt
and ending in the clouds
