Very nice colour choices! The analogous scheme offers variety in hue, but at the same time, unity across the image. Using the sand drifts / rocks to angle the eye towards the subject was a clever use of the landscape as well. The texture and lighting you put into the environment really gives a strong sense of space and density – I can tell the land on the left of the image is much more solid than the earth and dust-like clouds on the right side. This distinction also makes the feline pop out from the background, which is a nice touch. I like the way you made the foreground details sharper and darker while making the details of objects further away looser and lighter but still representative of shape.
One thing I don’t like as much in the backdrop is the curling cloud in the middle; if the viewer’s eye is to follow the ground plane, one’s focus is swept up along the cloud’s edge, almost like a ramp, and tossed back off the picture. Outside that one curly-cloud, every other aspect of the environment perfectly guides the viewer’s focus towards the cat.
As for the cat itself, I think you did a nice job on the shading and the building of texture. The muscles and forms are well defined, yet still soft enough to give the impression of a fur coat. I do believe the anatomy of the pose is off in several places though.
The angle of the hind leg works until the knee; I feel like the joint has been extended too far before sloping down into the ankle -- especially with the foreshortening that pose would create. As another critique mentioned, the hind paw appears a bit lost in the sand.
Another thing that struck me is: the right hind leg is missing. One could argue you wouldn’t see it because the left-front forearm hides it, but there definitely should be a sign of a paw/leg in the gap between the forearms; with the visible hind leg extended so far backward, the cat would need to bring the missing right hind leg forward and outward slightly to balance the weight.
The cat’s head appears to be at an odd angle too. I feel like you intended to have the cat looking out into the distance to emphasize the sensation of vastness in the scenery, but if I follow its gaze, the cat is staring at the ground just before the edge of the image. If the cat is indeed supposed to be looking at the ground, I would have compacted the neck a little bit rather than stretch it.
Overall, very nice job! Just some compositional things that could be corrected in a sketching-stage for the next time around! Keep up the good work! : )

This is an amazing piece of art from the style, the detail of the ground, the fur, lighting, and sky look amazing! The way everything fits together is wonderful, and the way it looks like it was taken straight out of a movie just adds to the creativity! Where you go next with the character and the pic is up to the creator, but Ice, you have truly outdone yourself! Everyone, myself included, are looking forward to seeing what you make next! Maybe you could continue this hopeful outlook like in this pic or maybe it will be a bit darker, either way! LETS SEE SOME AMAZING ART!

Love the use of lines of motion carrying focus around the picture, varying definition between distance and foreground, and how the clouds are left rough with the sky bleeding into them from behind. The tones in this picture work very nicely together and the pastel shades of the background help the cat pop even more. The paws, tail-tip and facial marking make neat added focal points, and the only thing I can think of is defining the paws' contact point with the ground more, or showing sand texture to convey that they're buried in sand. (Already pointed out though, apologies.)

As you wish.
I like the color-palette of this one. It seems warm, I kinda imagine an early morning in the desert to look like that. Talking about desert, I'm kind of unsure if the floor in your painting is actually sand or stone. My first impression was actually sand, since the paws of that fella seem to sink in. But at a second glance the ground looks rather solid and unmoving.
I like that the sky is rather off, makes it look like a dream, which gets along well with the title.
The biggest critique I have, apart from the ground (that still looks good, even if I can't tell if it's stone or sand), are the paws. They look a bit off, and not in a good way like the sky. They look a bit like you were too lazy to put more effort into them (sorry, that sounds so harsh...) The way they "sink in" is kinda strange. I do not even mind the vanishing of the foot in the back. Both paws in the front are what's kinda keeping this thing from being a perfect pic. Both paws don't seem to be "well formed" to me. They look weird, a bit like "oh fuck it, I'll leave it that way". Maybe study more paws?
All in all: I love the colors, the fur, the character itself and the whole szenery. But these paws are irritating.
IM SORRY IF I WAS TOO HARSH.
But you requested critique...
and, as I said, I think the whole piece is actually really good.

All of the colors blend together and make this piece a site for sore eyes. I take the In-between to be the realm between two worlds where you are not one's self. The clouds bend into the earth and the clefts in the ground are like mountains peaks, really showing emotion in this piece. The character itself is quite beautiful, as well. The fuzziness in their hind legs to me shows that they truly are in the In-between. I do take the muscles in their legs, however, to be quite enlarged, which throws the picture off by a hair. Otherwise, this picture sums up beauty and tranquility. I'd love to hear story behind this lovely character and how they got to be in the In-between.
