I just finished the first phonebook-sized volume of Cerebus, and now I need to track down the other 15 or so. It's a pretty unique series, with visuals that quickly develop sophistication, a cast of bizarre and intriguing figures from delusional superheros to ruthless despots and crooked politicians, sorcerors, barbarians, etc etc. Cerebus often finds himself aiding in the plans of several individuals with their own goals and ambitions, evil or otherwise, and Cerebus is usually interested in taking advantage of these individuals in the long term. I have a while yet before the story starts taking a misogynistic turn, I've heard. Until then, I'm enjoying it.Related content

Awesome tribute. I grew up reading the comics and while I think Dave Sim is a huge asshole it doesn't change the fact that he and Gerhard did something incredible and historic.

So, this was in February... I'm curious: did you finish already? I'm not gonna spoil anything, but this is one series full of odd turns and really unique.
And this really reminds me of the Cerebus of the first days(before Church and State and so on): more Aardvark-y and all.
And, seriously, it's hard to find aardarks amidst the sea of three headed dogs you find searching for "Cerebus" here. The heck?
