This was a project done for the ST_Respect Olympics 2011 (over on Live Journal) for Event 3: Visual Category. The prompt was A/U.

I'm part of Team Spork, the Kirk/Spock ship. We decided to do a fairy tale where Jim's mom was a selkie. The story was written by LadyBlahBlah and Ninjaboots, and I did the art. My awesome fiance Winterrose did the typesetting and the photoshop work.

Painted with watercolor on vellum illustration board, with detail work done in a sepia Prismacolor pencil and the highlights added with white fabric paint (I find it to be the most opaque, and it seems to work better than all my other paints. I tried all of them. It was pretty frustrating, actually.)
