Sabrefam comic I did for the Because We’re Family zine!!!!
You can still get a copy here, featuring myself (including another yet unreleased piece ), and 81 other pages of art and writing from a fantastic team of creators as a pay what you want with all proceeds going to relief for covid19!
Had a lot of fun being a part of this team to make the zine happen, and this comic means a lot to me, as well as Lena’s arc in general. The show may be over, but what I learned about myself and what it means to find a family as it was reflected in this show, I will hold dearly forever.
The show itself had a lot of constraints, especially for time, and how much they wanted to handle in the show’s formatting, but I believe we deserved some more formal or official closure on Lena finding herself in a place where she was truly safe for the first time in her life– something beyond off screen confirmation that she was adopted. In general too, I would have loved to see at least a little of the dynamic in the Sabrewing family household, more of Indy and Ty, and a more direct address of Lena adjusting, but here we are! My head is very full of love for this fambiwy 💖 💖 💖 💖
