Description
The lotus flower holds spiritual importance in Estraude. It often features in major celebrations as it shares traits with all three of the nature gods: the perfume of Iridus, the blossom of Therras and the dwelling of Mareus. At the end of the year, when communities come together to reflect on the days past and greet the year ahead, paper lotuses of all different shapes, sizes and designs are folded to decorate every home in thanks. Each flower often contains the maker's wishes for the new year, written within the leaves, in the hope that the gods may bless them.
Design Sheets | Instructions
Simply print and cut out the design sheets (optionally, write your or your characters' new year wishes in the white boxes) and follow the instructions linked above. Take time and have patience when unfolding the petals, as the paper can tear pretty easily if forced too much.
Note: The designs will want to be on the back when initially folding.
I recommend you only use electric tealights with the paper lotus.
