UPDATE: Have made some changes to this and uploaded it as a wallpaper. Take a look at the new version. [link]END UPDATE
Working on this reminded me of when I'm writing a story. Halfway through I realise the characters have their own idea of what to do. Halfway through this piece I realised it was nothing like I envisioned.
I began with the thinking that since I had taken up digital painting and found that I surprisingly didn't suck at it, I should try my hand at other stuff too. So I though of doing a pure photo-manipulation. There were going to be huge green fields and sweeping vistas and clear blue skies and birds. Obviously none of that happened.
Instead I threw away the cloud photos and took up my tablet again and (with the help of a tutorial on how to draw clouds) began to paint. Pretty soon I had a whole nice looking clear blue sky with some pretty real looking clouds. Then I went for the green grass. Which didn't work out quite as nicely as I had hoped. In the end I decided that the grass should be a silhouette which gave me the idea to make the sky more sunsetty... the overall effect wasn't that bad but something was missing.
Then I realised that I had started on this as a manip and here I was not manipulating a photo at all so I took checked out some stocks and selected a suitable looking figure and PRESTO! Here it is!
I admit that I was pretty careless by the end left some little things that I should have cleaned up. I don't like the lens flare either but as usual I got bored with it and wanted it done immediately, if not sooner.

Absolutely gorgeous! Instant favourite, you considered selling it as a print?

I really love what you did here! (I agree about the lens flare, but so what? Some people will love it anyway, and I don't find it distracting, just sort of not necessary I suppose.)
I love the silhouette effect and the transparency of the gown against that glorious sky. Funny how sometimes we set out to achieve something very ambitious, then end up with something that truly evolves out of the picture into something perhaps even more pleasing! Well done!

Yes that's true. It seems to happen very frequently with me though. Most of the paintings on my gallery (you're welcome to check it out ) didn't end up as what I had envisioned. Thanks for the
and comments. Really appreciate it.

Thank you. Didn't have to try really hard on my part to accentuate anything. She was graceful to begin with heh

This is excellent, I really dig this. I was going for something like this in one of my pieces but you really nailed this. This is a piece of art man

Thanks. Actually I should reveal that it was your piece [link] that was the inspiration for this. I had started out with the idea of creating a green field and clouds but halfway through (after seeing your work and faving it) I found I liked the silhouettes better. Thanks man. This one is actually your idea.

Thats pretty cool man. I've been inspired by alot of other people works but never the other way around lol.
Its funny cause I was inspired by SeanE's piece who was inspired to color David Rivera's "Samuri Sunset", which went from mine to yours so this general idea has had quite a journey to say the least, with many beautiful twists and turns in the process.
I can't say enough about this piece though, I really dig your direction and artistic vision. I love the natural flow of the landscape and the scene in general. This came out extremly well.
