Was originally gonna keep this in Tumblr, but considering I did show a preview of it in this site via status, I suppose it'd be fair to post it here as well~
Anyway, a quick doodle comic about some height differences between Link and Pit back in the day.
They grow up so fast, lol~
Be careful who you call "short" in middle school NES era, kids. Because rest assured, it will bite you in the ass.
(Also, a little heads-up. I'd appreciate no Link hate in my art, please. I've noticed in the comment sections in my art wherever both Pit and Link are present there's a lot of salt directed toward Link and it's making me uncomfortable??? ;;;
Link can come off as an ass sometimes in my depictions, but he means no harm. Plus, Pit's allowed to sass back at Link whenever he wants unlike //coUGH// when with a certain green-haired bastard "goddess" of troll

Well to be fair, it’s not as bad as all the other jokes people have made in Pit’s expense. Also what goes around comes around, so I will give Link the point here.

Even though BOTW steps it up by making Link throw the chickens off the volcano once and for all whereas Uprising now gives Pit another food to fear //cOUGH// tempura my favorite~~ ;3;/
I'm pretty sure they'll just brush it off at some point, they're like quarreling friends in my headcanon~

Yeah, I think either Pit goes to him to learn the art of the comeback, or Pittoo finally gets tired of watching his counterpart be a doormat for everyone and decides to throw him a bone.
I hope so, it’s all fun and games til someone says something that goes to far below the belt.
So I’m curious, in your headcanon, what is Pit’s relationship with the other Smashers? Does he have any other friends among them aside from Samus?

If I were to think of anyone other than me, the author/artist, saying so I like to think Dark Pit and NES Pit are likely candidates for putting Palu in her place.
(At least, mainly due to my headcanon for NES Pit lol)
I don't really know much about the Smash series (heck, my first and ONLY Smash game is the one for the 3DS lol), and I don't know much about the other franchises, so I don't really have a...stable headcanon for Pit's relationship with them (meaning it's bound to change depending on how much I know about them eventually).
But for Samus, while I know nothing about Metroid (and it's a franchise I don't see myself getting into; I'm not a fan of sci-fi), I like to see her as a sibling to Pit due to how their series are created to be based off the other.
Pit (our third-gen cinnamon angel Pit, not the other previous generations of him) actually has slightly different personalities/relations, depending on what universe he's in
meaning my interpretation/headcanon for Pit in Uprising is different from him in Smash
Uprising Pit gets along really well with Phosphora (both are really good friends at most), and he's not involved romantically with anyone yet).
Smash Pit is in a relationship with Link because I ship LinkPit lol and he's got slightly more attitude and sass than his Uprising-verse self. Depending on what I have planned, he probably moves out from Palu's domain and lives together with Link somewhere. 👌
But both variations of Pit are huge fans of Mario and are REALLY knowledgeable about 1-up boi's franchise.

I see, though I personally think he would on good terms with Mario, Luigi, and Peach.
Like you mentioned, he is a huge fan of Mario and did help him save Peach and the world in Subspace Emissary.
He and Luigi could easily relate to one another since both of them are experiencing at being Nintendo’s wiping boys.
As for Peach, I think she and Peach would get among well since they have similar personalities. Pit would love the cakes she makes, and she would find Pit very adorable, which his is. X3
