Fly: In demon form, Cholet can fly up to 5 miles without rest. Her human form is limited, however, because she uses the same amount of energy to elevate herself in both forms. In human form, she can float off the ground and if needed, leap about 7 feet into the air at best.

Vacuum: A small pocket of airless vacuum is created and maintained for about a minute. This is only done one at a time, however, and the amount of concentration and energy it takes is immense enough that she’s left completely vulnerable to her environment. The larger the vacuum, the faster her energy runs out. Also, she’s not very good at controlling it.

Wind-shaping: For a split second, a concentrated bout of air is created that can be used to slice things. It’s not very powerful, and is most commonly used to cut veggies and the like.

Cholet is perhaps the poster child of a “good girl” – that is, she is feminine, cheerful, sociable, and caring to those around her. That is an image she has imposed on herself for as long as she lived, as she saw it as the best way to support her older brothers and lone father. This means that for most of her life, Cholet never allowed herself to properly handle her own motivations and desires – instead, she forced herself to keep smiling until she couldn’t anymore. Despite knowing that this is a terrible habit to have, Cholet still maintains that she must be as cheerful as possible, and greets everyone with a mirage of absolute optimism and confidence.

History:

[tl;dr] Cholet grew up in barren North Dakota, where there was no one for miles and miles. She got bored with her life, after almost half a century of nothingness, and decided to join Seryy by a mixture of curiosity and desperation to escape her current life.

Her particular species of demon are knowledge-lovers, and had an age long tradition of nestling in the long forgotten bookshelves of libraries and personal collections just to get a whiff of any and all information. During the war, flocks of these birds would circle libraries in the brink of destruction, just to save whatever pages out of books they could. To see knowledge destroyed hurt them as much as any sword or shotgun wound, but many birds were lost during those flights to save their beloved books – and Cholet’s mother was apparently one of them.

Cholet was born wedged in a dark, lofty building corner in Manhattan, New York City. Her parents and her four older brothers stayed together, and Cholet was a beloved chick until the war came to the downtown district they were at. Despite her father’s pleads for her to stay, Cholet’s mother and eldest brother left to save the books across the city, and they never saw either of them again. As smoke rose above the city, covering the sky and the air, what was left of Cholet’s family began their long journey west. The fighting wasn’t as bad in the barren plains, they had heard, and after long nights of fatigue and more flying, the family of birds settled into central North Dakota. There were nobody for miles, and slowly, the family rebuilt itself.

If you asked Cholet, she would laugh cheerily before offering a reply: “Oh, it’s quite lovely, really, despite how… lonesome it may seem sometimes. The night sky, oh, it’s beautiful when it isn’t clouded over.” The family of demons put together a small house, and began a life as farmers growing small patches of vegetables and wheat, just enough to maintain a simple lifestyle. Cholet couldn’t tell you how long that went on, as it was for many, many, MANY years, and life was peaceful but ultimately… boring. So boring. So incredibly dull and meaningless that Cholet couldn’t take it anymore, despite telling herself that her family needed her. They needed her WITH them. Even if she knew that, her heart would ache so much that she would be immobilized when the winds blew, and flocks of wild geese would soar overhead to head south for the winter. She wanted to fly with them, and one day, she finally did.

Cholet bid her family goodbye just as news of the war ending finally reached them, a whole year after the initial peace settlement. Something about an organization known as DAMMED, but Cholet was intrigued enough that she felt she needed to learn more. First, however, she followed the eastern wind and flew back to Manhattan, her birth place. For the next couple of years, she searched for her lost mother and eldest brother, with no results. She also learned more about DAMMED as she familiarized herself with technology she had not seen or touched back in North Dakota, and grew more and more interested in the adventurous concept of perhaps… joining it, as she saw the organization as the future for the world. If she were to join that organization, then perhaps she would never feel that terrible, slumbering boredom ever again.

Did she dare, though? She, a weak little bird from some backwater, lonely plain. Despite her fears and doubts, however, Cholet set a course for the city of Seryy and enlisted.
