My version of the backstory:

Datura, the heiress of rich merchants, grew up in a large family and had a happy and carefree childhood. Her grandfather was able to get rich through hard work, but his children grew up spoiled. Datura's parents constantly spent money on luxury holidays and did not pay attention to the children at all. This little bird spent all her time with her grandfather and learned her craft from him. They often traveled in search of strange things and she really likes the life of an adventurer.

After his death, grandfather bequeathed all his property to his beloved granddaughter, the only one who deserved it. The relatives were angry. The family split. The parents started trying to restore the relationship. Some brothers left the family having cut off all ties. One of the sisters did not want to give up a carefree life in luxury and began to look for a way to take everything for herself. She made a deal with the demon and sent him to get the money.

The demon took advantage of a loophole in the contract, met with Datura and told her everything. After that, they concluded a more favorable contract between themselves. Under the terms of this agreement, Datura gained the ability to use magic. But in return, she sometimes needs to sacrifice one soul to him, not necessarily kill her with her own hands.

Datura didn't want to stay in this house, with this money, with this family that didn't understand her at all. After her grandfather's death, nothing kept her here anymore. But before she left, she had to finish one thing. Datura brought her sister who wanted so much wealth to the room where the jewels were kept and arranged her death. While no one found out about the incident, she quickly packed up and ran away. Now she enjoys the life of traveling the world and does not regret her choice. And she doesn't suspect yet that someone has already announced a hunt for her.
