In this scene, while sailing out and while handling the fishing rod, Amos Slade (as Quint) orders John Smith (as Chief Martin Brody) throw another bucket of chum to attract the shark while Tom and Jerry just continue to work on the boat before Amos takes a big drink of beer with tom taking a big drink of coffee with both of them crushing their can/plastic cup afterwards.
