Description
|!| 'Snakebit' is a little book series of my own that I felt like making since I love writing. All of the characters in this "book" are reflected off of the Cursed AU as this is the dark and deep history of them before the curse even existed. In this series we follow Piconjo of whose life is full of bad luck and chaos just for the sake of proving his strength so that he can no longer be judged nor bullied for being considered weak and soft by his classmates or parents. |!|CHAPTER 3: Perfidious Acceptance
-------------------------
It was around 12 PM and Boyfriend’s family seemed to be packing for a special occasion. Pico was up in his room, laying back on the bed and watching something on his phone. Boyfriend opened the door, cracking it behind him as he came to stand next to Pico, curious about what he was watching.
“Hi Pico, what are you watching?” Boyfriend asked curiously.
“Nothin’ much other than people dyin’.”
“I- oh.” Boyfriend said, not really expecting that answer. Boyfriend then fiddled around with his hair, glancing down at the ground and then back to Pico. “My mother and father are packing up stuff for a little camping trip they want to take us to by the way!” He shared excitedly.
“..Camping..?”
“Yeah!.. You DO know what camping is, right?”
“Well of course I do ya idiot.” Pico said in a playful manner.
“Oh okay- We’ll be leaving soon so that we can get there early and be able to set things up before night comes…Pack what you want and I’ll help you load it in the car!” Boyfriend offered.
Pico blinked, turning his phone off and throwing himself up and out of bed. He looked at Boyfriend, basically giving him a look as in he was already ready to go. Boyfriend looked at him confusingly for a moment.
“You’re not going to bring anything..?”
“My guns.”
“..Nothing else..?”
“Nope.”
“Okay then..” Boyfriend looked around. “Hey, could you maybe step out of the room for just a moment?”
Pico shrugged, walking out towards the door, waiting outside as he leaned against the wall. Boyfriend then searched around Pico’s room, wanting to find his microphone. He would end up finding it in one of the top drawers resting there next to the doll. He picked it up and put it in his pocket for later. He then went out of the room to join Pico.
“Come now! Let’s go out and wait for my parents.” Boyfriend said, leading the way outside. The car trunk was left open so that transporting things from here and there would be easier for the duo. Boyfriend and Pico leaned against the car, Pico just looking around the neighborhood as he did not recognize any of these beautiful houses. Pico was starting to miss his dark alleyway and the fear he brought to the people nearby. He tried to look around for it, not seeing too many dark areas as this place was full of bright colors. Pico got off the car, walking away as he looked around more. Boyfriend looked up, noticing Pico walking off quite far. He ran after him.
“Pico!- Where are you going?!” Boyfriend said, sounding a little sad. Pico turned his head around to face him, coming to a stop.
“I was just lookin’ for that dark alleyway.” Pico responded. Boyfriend looked at him with saddened eyes.
“..Don’t tell me you’re wanting to go back..” Boyfriend said softly.
“I-” Pico looked at Boyfriend’s saddened face, feeling a little bad for trying to leave. He didn’t know that Boyfriend cared for him this much to where he wanted him to stay. He rubbed the back of his head nervously, walking back to Boyfriend.
“Fine, I won’t go.” Pico said.
Boyfriend smiled, giving Pico a quick hug before running back to the car. Pico was left there, blushing almost intensely. He calmed his feelings down, getting all the pure red off of his face before walking back. By the time Pico made it back, his parents were loading in the final bags, closing the garage door.
“Does everyone have everything?” Audrey asked everyone.
“Yup!” Boyfriend exclaimed.
Audrey smiled, getting into the driver’s seat. Pico and Boyfriend hopped into the back, closing the car doors. Oscar closed the trunk’s hood, hopping in too as well. They all put their seat belts on, except for Pico who just sat there carelessly. Boyfriend reached over to Pico’s side, pulling the seatbelt strap over Pico and buckled it. Pico looked at him with confusion. Boyfriend only smiled at him, sitting back over on his side. Pico sighed, looking out the window as he watched the car start to pull out of the driveway and onto the road.
Audrey would turn the radio on, trying to find something nice for everyone to listen to. She found a station where they were playing one of their favorite songs. From time to time Audrey would sing the lyrics, Boyfriend joining in with her since he knew this song too since she would always play it at home. Pico would slightly bob his to the music, liking the beat of it as he continued to stare out the window. It was all joyful and stuff until Pico started to feel a little pain in his stomach, making him a little dizzy. He wasn’t used to riding in a car as he normally walked everywhere he went. Pico then started to feel like he was about to throw up. He shook Boyfriend eagerly on the shoulder, trying to get his attention. Boyfriend stopped singing, looking over at Pico. Pico was covering his mouth, pointing to it with his other hand.
Boyfriend panicked a little, taking his seatbelt off for a minute and helped Pico roll his window down. Pico immediately pulled the upper half of his body out the window, his hands still holding onto the car as he leaned over, throwing up. Boyfriend softly patted Pico’s back, trying to see if that helped him get it all out. Audrey looked into the mirror, noticing Pico’s carsickness. There wasn’t much she could do just yet, so she put her eyes back onto the road. Once Pico was done, he wiped his face, lifting his head up. He then plopped himself back into the seat, his eyes looking drowsy. Boyfriend kept his window down just in case Pico needed to throw up again.
A few minutes went by and the car pulled into the parking lot. Oscar and Audrey popped open the trunk, taking out the main things they needed first. Boyfriend hopped out of the car, telling Pico to hurry up playfully. Boyfriend then went over to try and help his mother pick up a heavy load. Pico finally came around back, checking on what they were doing. Pico noticed them struggling, so he walked over and snatched the bag out of both of their hands with ease. They were both impressed, taking the last few bags instead, closing the trunk. They all then followed Oscar to the camping spot, going far and deep into the woods. Oscar then tossed down the bag he carried and let the others know that this was their camping spot.
It was a beautiful and colorful spot that was right next to the shallow crossway of the river, its water shining as you could see right through it clearly. Audrey offered the boys to go and explore while she and Oscar set everything up thanks to their help. Pico shrugged, willing to take the offer and left almost immediately. Boyfriend was pretty interested in looking at the river stream, heading there first in excitement. Pico walked deep into the bush, trying to find a good hiding spot for whenever he felt like he needed to hide due to his insecurity. He found a perfect spot; it was filled with heavy-leaved bushes and a decent crawlspace that he could go into and make more clearer for himself. He ducked down, crawling into the main section as he then moved branches around, breaking them so that he could make the path clearer for himself later. Once he was done, he crawled back out, heading back to the campsite.
He looked around for Boyfriend, spotting him still by the river crouched down and playing with the water. Pico snuck himself over and behind Boyfriend with a devious smile on his face. He then grabbed Boyfriend by his shoulders, shoving him into the water. He then backed away, laughing at him. Boyfriend lifted his head up quickly, taking a large gasp for air. He then looked over at Pico, his eyes looking mad, but with a smirk on his face. Boyfriend then stood up, tossing his hat onto the bank of the river and grabbed Pico with his whole body, letting himself fall back into the deeper end of the river so that they wouldn’t hurt themselves by falling into the shallow end. Pico panicked a little as he didn’t see that coming. They would tackle each other playfully, getting their bodies and clothes all wet.
Boyfriend would notice Pico’s bright smile as they played. It made Boyfriend feel happy that Pico was actually having a fun time. On the other hand, Pico had never had this much fun in his life as he wished for this moment to last for as long as it could. As Pico was about to pounce on Boyfriend, his shoe slipped on something slippery inside the water, causing him to fall forward and land on top of Boyfriend. Pico lifted his body up with his arms, groaning as he ended up hitting his knee on a possible rock. He looked up and down at Boyfriend’s body, noticing that the position they were in looked wrong. Pico quickly glanced over to his parents, making sure they didn’t see what was happening and glanced back to Boyfriend, his whole face turning red. Pico quickly got up, the water droplets dripping from all his clothing. Boyfriend stood up in front of him, glancing down at the ground, blushing. He rubbed the back of his head, glancing back at Pico.
“Let’s uh- head back now and dry off shall we?” Boyfriend suggested, shyly lending his hand out for Pico to grab. Pico stared at his hand for a little, then slowly reached his hand out to grab it. Pico continued to stare at their hands holding for a moment, then he looked at Boyfriend, smiling softly as they both then walked back to the site, holding each other’s hands the whole way.
The tents seemed to have been set up and Audrey just finishing up storing the wood near where they’d start a fire. The sun was starting to set, so it was just about time to light it. Boyfriend and Pico would sit next to each other, watching as his father would attempt to light it. A few seconds later the wood then burst into flames, the fire’s heat beaming at their faces. Pico’s eyes shrunk, his face looking horrified as stared at the fire. It brought him back memories of his school when the kids would sometimes light students and classes on fire. Boyfriend looked over at Pico’s face concerningly as he had been staring at the fire with the same face for about 5 minutes now. He waved his hand in front of Pico’s face, trying to direct his attention away. That didn’t work. He then let go of Pico’s hand, turning Pico’s head to face him.
“Helloo? Pico are you theree?!” Boyfriend said, staring into his horrified eyes.
Pico then flinched, blinking several times as he panickingly looked around, taking a second to remember where he was. Boyfriend then let go of Pico’s head, putting his hands down and looking at him with eyes of worry.
“Sorry- I was just havin’ flashbacks..” Pico said quietly, looking away.
“Hey, it’s okay. No need to be sorry about your past.” Boyfriend said calmly, holding Pico’s hand again. “I’ll be here if you ever need me!” He smiled.
Pico smiled back, feeling comforted. He then turned back to the fire, taking the time to admire it without letting his mind corrupt him with flashbacks. Audrey then appeared from the other side of the fire with a bag of marshmallows, Hershey's, and graham crackers.
“Who’s ready to make smores!~” She sang, setting the items down and giving everyone a metal-like stick. It was very sharp at the end, probably even capable of killing someone. Pico admired it, poking the pointy part of the stick. Audrey then passed out the items to make the smores, giving Boyfriend double the items so that he could help Pico with his. Boyfriend grabbed the largest one he could find and stuck it at the end of his stick. He put it over the fire and used his other hand to give Pico one, demonstrating how to heat it correctly since Pico looked very confused about what he was doing. Pico grabbed the marshmallow and stuck it on his stick, hovering it over the fire, just like Boyfriend. He watched as it started to darken, his face full of amusement as he twist and turned it.
Boyfriend then pulled his out from over the fire, it was slightly burnt, but that was the way he liked it. He then watched as it was still aflame, eventually blowing it out. Pico watched, repeating what Boyfriend did but his looking more fairly heated. Instead of blowing it out, Pico attempted to touch the small flame with his hand, flinching as the heat then struck his body. He then blew it out, looking over at Boyfriend of who was giggling at him. Boyfriend then grabbed a graham cracker, splitting it into two squares and placing them on his lap. He carefully slid the roasted marshmallow onto the cracker, squishing it a little. He then took two Hershy’s and set them on top. Finally, he took the other half of the cracker and set it on top. He looked over to Pico, sliding the crackers and Hershey’s over to him. Pico looked at them, taking a graham cracker and splitting it in half. He took the marshmallow off of his stick with his bare hands, placing it on the cracker. He grabbed two Hershey’s pieces, setting them on top. He then grabbed another two, setting them on the bottom of the marshmallow since he loved chocolate. He placed the other half of the cracker on top, holding the smore like a sandwich.
“Go on, take a bite!” Boyfriend exclaimed.
Pico looked at it for a moment, trying to find a spot which to take a bite from. He chose one of the corners, taking a large bit out of it. Once the taste settled in, Pico’s eyes lit up in delight.
“Is it good?” Boyfriend asked.
Pico gave him a thumbs up as he continued to chew, smiling. Boyfriend then finally started to eat his, loving the way they tasted too. Pico would end up making more with extra chocolate as he just loved the taste of the smores. He had ended up making about six other smores for himself, everyone else only having two. Once everything was cleaned up, Audrey suggested that they should sing a couple of songs to soothe the feeling around the fire with its dark blue sky. Boyfriend would grab his mic out of his pocket, his mother pulling over a small speaker to play the music. Boyfriend then realized that he brought Pico’s mic as well. He took it out, handing it to Pico with a smile on his face, wanting him to sing with him. Pico nervously took the microphone, holding it unstably. His mother then played an instrumental of some random song, letting Boyfriend sing his own lyrics. He sang his turn for about 2 minutes, holding a long soft low note as he turned to Pico with soft eyes, wanting him to pitch in. Pico hesitated, took a deep breath, and began to sing. He raised the low note Boyfriend left him with, adding more vocals and speeding them up quickly.
From time to time, they would both take turns singing, sometimes even jumping in on each other and dueting. Their song lasted around 5 minutes, the ending sounding awfully depressing as Pico started to get too deep into the singing and let his emotions out. Boyfriend’s parents started to clap as they enjoyed the song. Pico closed his eyes for a moment, letting the song rest in his head for a while longer before opening his eyes again.
“You have a beautiful singing voice, Pico!” Audrey stated happily.
“..Thanks.” Pico said, smiling a little.
“Did you guys plan that song before we got here? It sounded absolutely perfect!” Oscar complimented, clapping for an extra few seconds before stopping.
They both shook their heads.
“If I am to be honest, I think you two would be a great team when it comes to singing together.” Audrey said. “If you guys ever do plan on starting your own thing up I’ll be sure to be there!”
Boyfriend smiled, liking the idea as he did always want to become a singer in his future. Pico was only smiling happily, appreciating Audrey’s confidence. Audrey then looked at their clothes, noticing that they were dirty due to the water that soaked into them.
“How about you two boys go change for the night and let’s call it a day.” She suggested. “I’ll leave the fire going just in case you boys want to stay near it- just make sure to put it out before you sleep!”
Audrey and Oscar then disappeared into their tent, leaving Pico and Boyfriend outside by the fire. Pico stood up, realizing that he didn’t bring any spare clothes. Boyfriend stood up next to him, reading his face as it had said it all.
“Don’t worry, I packed extras that you can use!” Boyfriend offered, grabbing his bag and heading into his tent. Pico followed behind him, watching as Boyfriend zipped it open. Boyfriend pulled out a black hoodie that had a large white X logo on the back of it. He then gave Pico black sweatpants with a white stripe on the side to match it, giving him an extra pair of socks too. Pico smiled, thanking Boyfriend as he took the clothes and went to his tent to go change. Surprisingly, the clothes fit him just fine. Pico would toss his dirty clothes to the side, letting himself collapse down onto the comfy furry blankets. He searched around for his phone, forgetting too, that he didn’t bring that either. Pico started to slightly worry as his phone was the only thing to keep his mind off of his past.
He took a death breath, trying to comfort himself that it’d be okay. He then pushed his face into the soft pillow, trying to force himself to sleep as he could hear Boyfriend putting out the fire before heading to bed. It was about ten minutes later of dead slience, Pico still struggling to sleep. He continuously flipped from one side to the other, clutching his hair tightly as he tried to tell his mind to stop thinking. It never listened and kept taunting him, continuing to make him realize what he had done and that he’d end up doing it again with this family. Pico then let one hand go of his hair and grabbed one of his guns, pointing it at his head. Pico breathed heavily as that was the only thing he was able to hear now. His mind stopped speaking to him, leaving the sounds of the midnight creatures' call. He then slowly put the gun down, rubbing his face with his hands. His eyes were tired, but they did not wish to close shut.
Pico stood up, picking up both of his guns and headed over to where Boyfriend was sleeping. He peered in, finding Boyfriend looking through his phone. Pico would take a step in, the sound of the earth’s surface making a sound as it alarmed Boyfriend, causing him to turn around. Boyfriend looked at Pico, a little bit worried and scared as the way Pico stood there with both guns in hand looked very intimidating and scary to him.
“I-Is there something wrong, Pico?”
“Yes.” Pico said blankly, walking over to go lay down next to Boyfriend on his stomach. He put his guns on the opposite side Boyfriend was of him, folding his arms. “I can’t sleep.”
“Why not? Was something bothering you?” Boyfriend asked worryingly.
“Every time I hear dead silence, my mind takes the time to come and corrupt what I think, makin’ me want to literally kill myself after what I’ve done.” Pico said, fiddling with his fingers as he stared down at them.
“Oh…well you can sleep with me if you’d like! We can maybe watch something together on my phone.”
“I’d love that.” Pico said, smiling.
Boyfriend then lifted up his covers, allowing Pico to come lay closer to him. Without second thinking, Pico slipped right over. Boyfriend then let go of the blanket, letting it cover Pico’s body. They both would help each other choose what to watch so that they were both entertained. After about 30 minutes of watching videos, Pico was able to finally fall asleep, his head resting against Boyfriend’s. Boyfriend hadn’t realized it as he felt too comfortable and soothed to bother. As the last few minutes of the current video ended, Boyfriend turned his phone off, checking to see if Pico was asleep by whispering his name a couple times. Pico didn’t respond. Boyfriend then got himself into a bit more comfortable position, trying not to let Pico’s head fall off from his. He then closed his eyes, his mind starting to think about Pico and of who he really could be deep down inside his rude and ignorant personality. Eventually, Boyfriend slowly but surely fell asleep.
It was the next morning, Pico being the first to wake this time. He slowly opened his eyes, stretching his arms out and yawning. He then slowly turned over to face Boyfriend of who was still asleep. Pico smiled to himself, resisting the urge to give him a small and quick kiss on the head. He didn’t know why he felt like doing so, but everything in his mind was telling him to, causing him to blush. Pico stood up, picking up his guns and heading out of the tent. He walked over to the riverbank, sitting down with his guns next to his side. He brought his knees up to his chest and held them closer to him as he stared at the water, thinking about what he was going to do in his future. Yes, he wanted to be with Boyfriend, but he also thought about his friends. Especially Nene. He hasn’t talked to her in a while and still wondered if she was okay as Nene felt like the perfect mother to him. Overall though, they were only friends in the end. Strangely enough, Pico wished to leave these nice potential parents behind and go back to the way he lived…but this time with his first love.
He knew Boyfriend’s parents wouldn’t like how violent he was since he always craved it as they were possibly going to try and make him the nice and soft person he used to be again. Pico did not want that. He wanted to stay strong and be feared by the others- not the wimpy Piconjo they knew. Coming back to reality, even if he did manage to run away with Boyfriend right now, he wouldn’t have a home to provide for the both of them. He paused his thoughts, thinking of what he should do in the meantime. An idea then popped into Pico’s head. He would wait until he was old enough to purchase his own home, probably around the age of seventeen years old. That wasn’t too far from now as he would only have to fake his willingness to live with Boyfriend’s family for a while longer. Pico didn’t wish to get a job, so he decided to just stick to stealing the money that he’d earn himself. This plan sounded perfect to Pico, pinning it to one of his most important things to do and make sure to remember. He knew it was bad, but he wanted to do it for Boyfriend and himself so that they could possibly live together as roomates..or maybe more.
Pico closed his eyes, letting this plan seep deep into his mind. Lying shouldn’t be that hard, right? Pico then looked behind himself, noticing that Boyfriend and his mother were awake. He picked up his guns and walked over to them. They both turned to him with curious eyes.
“I have made up my mind.” He cleared his throat. “I am willin’ to take your offer, Miss Audrey.” Pico said, trying to make it sound believable as possible.
Audrey jumped in excitement, hugging Pico as she did little baby screams.
“Oh I’m so happy that you do! I did not think a simple camping trip would make you decide any faster!”
“Yeah well- I took the time to think..that’s all.” Pico said.
Audrey then let go of him, continuing to rant about how happy she was. She then went to tell Oscar the news, him being happy about it too but not all jumpy and hyper like his wife. Boyfriend at this point was speechless as he looked at Pico. Pico slightly smirked, winking at Boyfriend as he walked over to stand next to him.
“Are we goin’ to be doin’ anything else today? I feel like going somewhere where there’s a lot of people and stores…” Pico said, trailing his words off.
“Oh, do you mean a mall?” Boyfriend questioned.
“Yes! Can we go to one?- I just wanna have a look at a few things.”
“Hm, sure! I can go ask my- I mean our parents-”
“Shh- keep them as your parents, not mine.” Pico said demandingly.
“Oh- okay.” Boyfriend said, walking over to his chattering parents. He asked them if they could go to the mall to look around for a bit. They both agreed, fixing their hair up and directing everyone to come into the car. Pico would quickly change back into the clothes he had on before, putting his guns into the straps of his pants as he followed behind them, hiding a devious smile.
The drive to the mall didn’t last that long and luckily Pico didn’t get carsick this time. They all got out of the car, Pico being the first one to get out as he grabbed Boyfriend’s hand, eager to get inside. Their parents only walked, laughing at how Pico acted as he would keep telling Boyfriend to hurry up. They all eventually made it inside, Pico wondering where to start first.
“If either of you do end up wanting something, feel free to let me know!” Audrey smiled.
Pico nodded his head in agreement, looking for a store that was probably more valuable than the others. Boyfriend was starting to feel a little suspicious of Pico, knowing he was for sure up to something since he’s never wanted to go to places so desperately. He followed carefully behind Pico, as he ended up following him up to the second floor, far from his parents. Pico then spotted a store that held a bunch of devices. Bullseye. Pico walked in, checking to make sure nobody was around. He spotted Boyfriend, only deviously smiling at him as he pulled his hoodie over his head, heading over to the counter. Nobody was there, but he could hear somebody in the back. He then took the split-second chance he had to hop over the counter and search the register. He knew how to open it this time since he watched the lady do it previously from the gas station a while ago. The register was stacked with money, Pico taking it all within seconds and stuffing it into his pockets. He heard footsteps coming closer from the other room as he slammed the register shut, running out of the store.
He then stopped running, starting to walk as if nothing had happened, taking his hood off and acted normal as he then glanced around for the next place to raid. Boyfriend was confused for a second as he didn’t watch the whole thing. Pico stopped in front of a clothing store, walking in to look at the prices of the clothing since they looked very fancy. He then decided to raid this one too, but with a little help.. He peeked out of the store, signaling Boyfriend to come here with his hand. Boyfriend rushed over, Pico pulling him down to a crouching level.
“I need you to distract that lady up front so I can get myself back there for a second and be gone.” Pico whispered, putting his hood up.
“I- Why are we stealing? I thought we were just going to-”
“Ya really think I just wanted to look around? Nahh, I came for somethin’ better.” Pico said, smirking as he cut off Boyfriend’s words. “Just..please?..” He looked at Boyfriend with charming eyes. “I’ll give ya half of what I steal~”
Boyfriend thought for a moment.
“Alright, fine!” Boyfriend agreed, clearing his throat before standing up and walking over to the lady who worked there.
“Hello, miss! I accidentally spilt something over by the shirts...Can you please help me clean it up?” Boyfriend lied, acting like the innocent boy he was.
The lady agreed, heading to the back and taking out a few of her cleaning supplies. She asked Boyfriend specifically where and followed him to the far back of the store. Pico then ran out from the clothes hopping over the counter again gracefully. He opened the register faster than before, getting the hang of how they did this. He scooped every slot of money out, filling his entire left pocket with some extra dollars that needed to be placed in his right one. He then quietly closed it, hopping back over.
“C’mon, Boyfriend!” Pico called to him.
Boyfriend then ditched the lady, running over to join Pico. They ran off back downstairs, repeating the same thing over and over to the point where Pico had to steal a backpack to put the money in. Pico then entered the final store, the plan going well so far. Just as Pico was about to climb over the countertop, another person appeared from the back room. Pico froze as they stared at him. He didn’t know there were two people. He saw that guy’s mouth begin to open, assuming that he was about to call for the others. Pico then pulled out his gun and shot him instantly in the head. He then quickly took the money, stuffing it into his bag. The loud bang the gun made alerted the entire mall. People started to panic, running out of the stores and rushing to get outside as some of the stores were starting to close. Pico hopped off the counter, yelling at Boyfriend to hurry up and follow him.
Pico grabbed his hand, running as fast as he could to reach the exit doors. While on the way, he would pull the gun back out, shooting some of the people for fun, trying to make sure that none of them were Boyfriend’s parents. Boyfriend only closed his eyes as he followed, not wishing to see the death of so many innocent people. They made it to the doors, but they were locked.
“Fuck!-” Pico yelled stressfully. He then let go of Boyfriend’s hand, whipping out both of the guns and would repeatedly shoot the glass doors until they shattered.
Pico then put the guns away, picking up Boyfriend up and over the glass, setting him back down. He grabbed his hand again, running towards the darker areas of the place, trying to find a decent forestry area to hide in for a little. He spotted a decent spot, but it was up in a very thickly leaved tree. It looked climbable, so he helped Boyfriend up first, setting him up there carefully. After helping Boyfriend up, he jumped, climbing himself up there with him. They both then sat there, catching each other’s breaths. Pico then looked at Boyfriend, noticing him gazing off at the ground. Pico scooted next to him, trying not to fall in the process.
“Ay....are ya doin’ okay, Boyfriend?” Pico asked softly.
“Yeah, I’m doing fine.” Boyfriend then turned to face Pico. “But for some reason…that was SO FUN!!” Boyfriend shouted, feeling a little hyper.
“. . .” Pico stared at Boyfriend. “You- You found that..fun too..?”
“Hell yeah! I didn’t know being so bad could be so fun!-” Boyfriend then calmed himself down, laughing nervously. “Heh, sorry..don’t tell my parents that I found it fun though- They wouldn’t be too happy with me.”
“Well, I’m glad ya found it fun! At least that’s another thing we got in common.” He said, pulling Boyfriend right next to him as he wrapped his arm around the back of his shoulders. “While we’re here…alone…I’ve been meanin’ to tell ya somethin’.”
Boyfriend looked over at Pico curiously, his eyes wide open.
“I know we’ve only known each other for a couple of months, but I’ve started to-” Pico then stopped, turning away as he blushed. “Y’know what- nevermind…I’m not ready to tell you yet-
Boyfriend put a hand on Pico’s shoulder, looking at him with charming eyes. Pico turned to look at him, a little confused.
“Don’t worry, you can tell me…althoughhh I kind of already know what you were going to say.” Boyfriend teased.
“Then…what is your response?”
“I feel the same for you too!” He said happily, giving Pico a tight squeeze and giving him several little kisses on the cheek. Pico was stone cold, his face being entirely red as he then felt stunned, falling backwards and off the tree. Boyfriend looked down at him, blushing and giggling.
Boyfriend would carefully climb down the tree, looking over Pico’s face as he had a sweet smile showing, his eyes looking as if they were filled with love. Boyfriend giggled again, trying to help Pico get up. His body didn’t budge, Boyfriend’s body being a bit too weak and sensitive. Pico was way tougher and muscular than him, so he understood why Pico wasn’t too easy to pick up. Boyfriend then just sat there next to him, waiting until Pico regained consciousness.
Boyfriend waited about an hour and Pico had finally gained consciousness back. Pico sat up, rubbing the back of his head as he groaned in pain. He then looked over at Boyfriend of who was just sitting there patiently.
“You’re finally awake! That fall must’ve really knocked you out.” Boyfriend said. “But before you say anything, we need to get back home before my parents start to worry too much-” He suggested. Pico nodded in agreement, them starting to walk home while holding hands. Luckily Boyfriend was able to remember where his home was from here. As they walked past the mall, Pico glanced at the large building, seeing a whole lot of cop cars and news reporters in the front of it. Pico then looked away, pulling his hoodie down so that he wouldn’t be recognized with it on.
The two eventually then made it back to Boyfriend’s house, all exhausted. Boyfriend rang the doorbell, waiting. His mother then answered the door, crouching down to hug both of them tightly as she was worried about where they were, thinking that they were probably killed during the breakout. She eagerly brought them in, fixing a quick meal for them while they showered. After they were done eating, they both headed to bed. Boyfriend would sneak out of his room, quietly heading over to Pico’s. He then jumped into the bed with Pico, rubbing all over him almost like a cat. Pico smiled, loving it. They both then eventually fell asleep, spooning one another. Boyfriend being the small spoon and of course, Pico, being the larger one.
It was the next day, it already being almost 11 AM. Boyfriend woke up, rolling over to his side to expect to see Pico’s face, but he was gone. Boyfriend then quickly got up, noticing the room window being left open and a note being taped to the window. Boyfriend walked over to the window, looking outside of it to see if Pico was out there. He then shut it, not seeing Pico anywhere. He would rip the note off the window carefully. It read “Call Me <3 -Love, Pico”
Boyfriend rubbed his head confusingly, not seeing a phone number on the paper until he turned it around. Pico’s phone number was written on the back of the paper. Boyfriend would then head to his room to get his phone, dialing the number immediately. It was not too long before he picked up.
“Hello..?” Boyfriend said.
“Hey, Boyfriend!.. I’m uh, sorry for the unexpected disappearance.” He paused. “But ay, do you remember that large tree that I confessed to ya at?” Pico asked.
“Yes, I do.”
“Can you maybe come meet me here? I got somethin’ else to say.”
“Sure! I’ll be on my wa-”
“Also. Bring your valuables or somethin’ and leave through the same window I left that note on… Cya soon.” Pico added, hanging up the phone.
Boyfriend stared at the phone confusingly, wondering why he had to bring his valuables. He shrugged to himself, grabbing a small bag and putting his favorite things in there. He’d put the bag’s strings around his shoulders, tightening it a little bit so it was stable. He then put his favorite cap on, opening the window and slowly, but carefully, crawling out of it. He then began to walk towards the location Pico told him to, a little worried about what was to come.
