Description
A long overdue badge commission, so added a little extra elbow grease to make up for the wait (I hope!). Been trying to approach commissions with a different mindset so tried a lot of random fun things on this piece and in the end had a good time of it!_____________________________

Question: Do you use brushes for your fur, or do you do it all by hand?

always by hand c=, standard round photoshop brush. I don't really like the artificial look brushes leave when it comes to fur (or at least the ones I have used x} )

Thank goodness. ...My fear was that all of you awesome artists used brushes. I can't stand them, and for the same reason. <3 Thanks for the quick feedback! Lovely image, as always.

Oh I think custom brushes have their places of use, I just haven't found the fancy fur brushes of use to me. I do use custom brushes a fair amount in other applications though (ie painting stone/cloud textures). Certain things are best painted with loose gestures and not intent otherwise they will look planned/ordered and hence lose that natural thoughtless flow that is innate to nature.
