Description
Used rainforest photo reference, but tried to keep it under 20 mins, (heheh yeah right, more like 40 if you count looking for reference lol). But the blue tone is used here as photo blue, a tradition in comics. When its printed, it comes out really faint. Once its inked over and re-scanned, the blue lines disappear and the ink final is closer to polish. Also, in showing work in progress I notice using this tone lets people know visually that its in progress so they can visualize the idea its going to be inked but they can see its going to have details in the end. Earlier I felt like I had to explain it and it wasn't the same as just using the blue ink.
Lighting is really fun, love it, used the background with 50% opacity and erased just enough to guide the eye across the river and horizon so a viewer has a simple read of what to look at. All part of the process/experiment.
