Description
This is a simplified tutorial on how to "extract" the textures of my models.
First you need this plugin for blender 4 (TexTools):

This plugins allows to do texture baking in multiple ways and some other neat features.
Since all my models use an original shader combined with the fact that I use masks instead of regular textures for the colors, using them outside of blender requires some work.
The process is just 3 and a half steps, depending of the object but requires some manual preparation before making the texture.
Luckily, thanks to the linked plugin, the baking step is pretty simple and only setting the objects and the materials requires some effort.
Depending ob the object things may be harder than in the example, but pretty much on all my recent models the picture covers all the info you need
EXTRA NOTES:
- I assume that you have some blender knowledge for this tutorial. Things like making and applying a new material with the new texture and setting the correct UV for that material are presupposed.
- You can leave the Subdivision surface modifier on the object and the bake is gonna use the subdivided geometry instead of the normal one. This is only recommended if you want to keep using subdivisions on the object, but since the main reason to bake the texture is to export the model to any other platform, I don't recommend it
- Some materials don't require UV's to work, but if you want to bake them you NEED to make a UV for them
- There is a feature on the paid version of the auto rig pro plugin that I use to make the rigs that allows you to directly convert a model into a Unity or Unreal Engine one. Combine that with this bake method to make ports to these platforms
