Description
If you wish to view this abomination to full effect PLZ DOWNLOAD!!! Kthnx <3Semi-realistic representation of the kind of creature that passes for a wolf amongst those dreaded wolfaboos... Because there is no way half those things could ever have been a wolf. Also this made me realise how poor my own knowledge of wolf anatomy was, then again I havenβt had a go at one in yonks, and its certainly not the only damn thing I ever draw. More scruffy shit for my gallery yay! Also why dose it now display my stuff like 3/4 of the original size... Really starting to annoy me, anyone know why this is?
So anyway, I bring you the Common Woof (canis troglodytus)
"most closely related to the grey wolf, this morose little creature has been subject to relative evolutionary isolation on its tiny island home. Only recently discovered, it is not clear how long they have been secluded, but clearly it has been long enough for some major anatomical changes to have taken place. First and most noticeable is its small, stunted stature due to limited food resources. Its build is relatively tall and lank, and its jaws slender and week, as there are no prey larger than small rodents and birds. Its diet is mostly omnivorous, comprising of small mammals and birds, berries, fallen fruits, fungi, carrion and a species of giant shell-less snail that lives only in the swampier parts of the island. Their legs are long and spindly for wading into marshy pools and the paws wide with large toes so as to help prevent the animal from sinking into soft ground. Markings are bolder and simpler than that of the wolf, and may come in a range of colours through greys and reds to very dark or almost white. Some animals may have a floppy crest of hair running up the neck and towards the face. Genetic analysis shows all common woofs to be severely inbred, causing high rates of physical deformity. Several subspecies are now known to exist on neighbouring islands"
~EDIT~
Just checked how many +favs this has had for the first time since I posted. WTF!!? 78 +favs for this? How? Not that I'm not grateful, but still. HOW?!

But whoever draws them thinks they are apropriate wolf characters, instead of being mutant dogs or whatever.

And I don't suppose there aren't any kind of people who are like that on Anit Wolf.

Not really. Anti-Wolf members are composed of people who laugh at the ridiculousness of someone thinking sparklewolfs are wolfs, so it would be a paradox.

K well, thats your opinion. But I was invited, so I'm not the one to take this issue up with I'm afraid, sorry. :3

I suppose you didn't get the joke.
Target is a sparklewolf and how they are commonly portraited.

But sparkle wolves aren't wolves.

Exactly, I mean you can't even call most of those things wolves... More like sort of rubber-boned mutant cat/fox things.

I don't even say that all these stories about them are all the same.

No, but you could be here for hours listing all the weird mutations. Was just agreeing with your comment about WiltheUnGoth not getting it

I like your scientific explanation for the Woof.
I really love reading those kinds of things that try to make sense out of something odd. >u<

Man, this really shows just how hideously awkward "woofs" are. x_X;;
Well done.

That's an interesting attempt to try to make the "common woof" make sense. If only 99% of their creators put half as much thought into them...

Lol, not sure if it was entirely successful though... Was just curious as to what an animal would look like based off those sort of messed up proportions. But whatβs really annoying is five minutes on google and a couple of good tutorials was all it took to come out with at least kind of semi-decent wolf, have these kids never seen one in their lives past a couple of screen shots of Balto?
