I've been meaning to try and learn AS3 a bit more seriously for a while now, and wanted to pick a character for a quick little animation to help me internalise the basics. As a master of the language, 's female counterpart seemed like a good fit (I imagine she knows it pretty well too).I'm not certain how much I learned, as a lot of my attempts to emulate what I'd usually use, failed. At the very least the way I use Objects hasn't changed much. Mostly it's having to define listeners for everything that's throwing me off. Still, I think I managed to make a fun little game in a short space of time. I hope you all enjoy it.
As for those wondering about my next game. It's pretty close to done. Just gotta add a little hand movement, and make her expressions. Problem is, there's quite a few lines this time around.

The numbers frequently don't respond to mouse events. My guess is that the text field might be picking up the event instead of the box. You can avoid this by setting the box's mouseChildren property to false.
I never thought I'd see She-Doom in an animation. I'd say it turned out OK. Good job. It was nice to see a new picture of one of my favorite characters, even if it's in an animation like this. The story was a bit weird. It left me wondering how this scenario could have happened. Maybe I'm better off not knowing.

I only found one ending with two of my characters, which was weird. It wasn't too bad. I didn't have the patience to explore every possibility. The game has very little feedback indicating what you can interact with or that you did something successfully.

You know, I always thought I was just not clicking them properly or something. I had no idea that was a property. I've tried to use it with this build. Hopefully it works now. I did discover AS3 appears to have "currentFrameLabel" as a property, I hope that hasn't been is AS2 all this time or I'm going to feel like a big goof.
Yeah, I don't put too much thought into the plot of these things. I find that the harder I try to make it make sense, the more glaring any weirdness becomes.

I don't think doom's ever done one with she-Doom. And I've only done interactive sequences.Β

Oh, I only meant any appearance, be it a comic or regular drawing, not just interactive ones.
Didn't you do other animations with She-Doom aside from this one? I could've sworn I've seen at least one other.

If you can call those interactives. I used flash to compile them, but they were more sequences than games like this one.

Refresh the game, and try again. I had tried to change the game's fundamental design at the last minute, but failed and I gave up. This broke the game so she wouldn't expand. I almost immediately realised my error and fixed it. It should work now.
