Description
This is a sample collection of the type of weaponry wielded in my fictional fantasy world, Arvia, where one of my story projects, Crimson Path, takes place. While I've been building up on this fantasy world with it's culture, history, and mythos, I decided to have fun with creating some sorts of symbolic weapons that are like the equivalent to what the cruciform-shaped sword is to the average medieval knight. In Arvia's mythos, they have a patron goddess of creation, wisdom, and magic called Nalvia, and she would have a halo-like crown that is crescent-shaped and has three tiny spheres in the middle of it. So, many a Arvian warriors or knights would eventually fashion their swords or weapons with that crescent shape or three circular spheres embedded onto their hilts or other places, believing that the power of their goddess will imbue their weapons with mystical properties. Even though theΒ Nalvian faith also had brought forth the teachings of magical spell-casting for generations of mages, warriors who don't practice magic still believed that it wouldn't hurt to have some of that magic juice for their own.
From right to left, an arming sword, spear, and battleaxe with the crescent-shaped or three spheres engraving; two viking swords with the three spheres engraving, a type of Arvian flail that is a symbolic weapon to a specific human kingdom, a gladius sword with three spheres engraving, and a type of Arvian war club that isn't exactly a symbolic weapon, but was drawn along with the gladius anyways.
