Description
Most Korok-class birds are equipped for high maneuverability and survivability in the field. The Terran Empire often 'enlists' the help of its allies, namely the Klingon Alliance, to assault enemies it can't be bothered to waste its own ships on, resulting in vessels like these becoming common, disposable raiders. Terrans do not normally employ raid tactics themselves, preferring to destroy their enemies outright unless sending a message. For some, the mirror Klingons are a message, an indication to whatever foe that they are not worthy of consideration by the Terrans themselves, so far beneath them as to send lesser species to handle them. The Klingons, used in such a way, don't tend to care. The bird-of-preys in the Mirror Universe are more akin to scavenging vultures than fierce hawks. The Korok-class is emblematic of that sentiment, and is outfitted for extended duty with increased armor, hardened nacelles and additional maneuvering thrusters. While the Korok-class bird-of-prey still employs ambush tactics, it is also capable of extended operations far away from safe territory, making it an excellent infiltration vessel, long-range scout or fringe patrol craft.
