so it seems like hero gets those flashbacks too?? implying that maybe his memory is 'locked' or 'damaged' like steve's seems to be, because his eyes go from red to gold and he does seem regretful about killing steve, but he also somewhat seems like he knows steve will come back?? hmmmmmmmmmm

Panel 6 and 7 kill my heart.
Steve also says "Why did you leave me alone?" in Herobrine's memories. So indicates that whatever happened to the two of them, both were at fault for something. And that, that is beautiful angst.

Awe, murderous boi is crying. Even if they may not be able to clearly remember, it is clear that those emotions connected are still there. Mmm, maybe this could be used if they can't remember to literally get a feel for things and how each other could be important to lost memories.
But really I'm loving the soft but strong emotions/faces in this one. Great job on making Steve's eyes actually look dead and glazed over too. ;3;

So both Steve and Herobrine have amnesia. But Herobrine seems to have an easier time unlocking memories now that he's seen Steve again. He even knew to hide Steve's reappearance from the Ender person. Hopefully he won't be so hostile when Steve returns to find out why he ended up back home.

Hey again bud. Still find it unending-ly impressive you've been this committed to your comics for so long. I've said it before but these web comic series never seem to last for whatever reason however your comic continues to be a wonderful gem. No matter how dark or not the story is at any given time, you make many people very happy and give them something to look forward to which for some people is just a pleasant side note and for others is a very big deal. You never know what people are going through and any small consistent bead of happy could be that thing getting them through the day. Keep being wonderful yeah? -JoeΒ Β
Wow okay sorry for that torrent of mushy feels I tend to ramble a bit and if you ever want me to shut it just say the word....or send me a cease and desist whichever heh. I'll try to recover some small sense of normalcy with some theory craf- damn I started this whole spiel (which i just realized is a German word and feel mildly stupid) about how Hero and Steve were some kind of lower class and Steve got essentially a fancy new job and Hero was trying not to get him in trouble and loose it. However with he baseline knowledge I have of your past comic, and minecraft in general, it was stupid of me to assume that even if it is meant to be entirely separate from sundown and rift.
New running theory which I'm not entirely attached to: Hero was a bit like Princess Jasmine in the remake of the Aladdin with the whole hidden away thing and not being heard. Steve was hired to a new job which put him alongside Hero and they grew to be close much to the chagrin of their betters. Past that I'm not confident enough in my thoughts to continue theorizing at this time. Either way I love what your doing and continue to facelessly support you from the internet heh.Β

Well that is not a normal corpse.
Hero gets the flashbacks too? And his eyes turn gold when it happens? Now that's interesting.
What else is interesting about these flashbacks- does Hero even remember Steve? His memories are also glitchy and seemingly 'incomplete', and it might explain why he didn't seem to ask the "Why did you leave me alone" when he encountered Steve, attacking him like he was anyone else. Even the way he looks at the corpse could be a subconscious thing, an itch at the back of his mind, not actual recognition- orrr he's seeing how weird the corpse looks.
Either way, very interesting stuff.

Poor Hero. I had a feeling his memories were all jumbled up like Steveβs. Also I really feel for Steve once he sees he own dead body. Thatβs gotta be at least a little creepy.
