This puts a new perspective on the last time the Shadows saw Steve. They only observed him and seemed to defend him from the guard that approached Steve. Who else remembers that? I may have to reread to see if I'm correct.

I still can't help but feel the guards are the actual villains to some kept away secret that will be later revealed, as well as the construction of the towns wall... Not the shadows or even Hero. It's all like... Some massive misunderstanding. -And someone's pulling the strings...
(Also I love Steve's hair, I wish it was like that all the time. I agree with Hana. <3 )

Learning what the shadows are, and having that whole flashback, then seeing the small shadow who first approached him with two larger shadows- there's something just so somber and sad about it.
Followed by an almost chilling feeling with General Nori calling them things in an obviously unfriendly tone of voice, even slashing at one of them with that weapon of hers. I don't believe she's necessarily a bad guy or anything just yet, as the shadows have been shown to hurt people and no one seems to know that the shadows are people. And considering that the shadows were once people, I have to wonder how/why they might be hurting the people of the village. Is it willingly or are they forced to by some supernatural means or higher authority? Are they even aware of what they're doing?
...On a lighter note: Huh, now Steve's hair is a lot more floofy.

The shadows are set up to be harmless, and one of them is "killed off" by Nori. While crying.
I feel like when we learn exactly where the shadows come from, it's going to be a freaky tragedy in the lore. Meanwhile though, Nori continues to be set up as a suspicious character.

On one hand, Steve trying to be understanding and kind.
