Naw it's not boring. It's very good backstory stuff, makes the characters that much more relatable than just being 'oh yeah they're just powerful magic-wielding people that became obsessed' kind of thing. And no worries about being away, life takes priority no matter how delightful said pages are

Boring? You gotta be joking!
I love seeing characters interact with each other. Little stories and adventures let you see more facets of a character than you would normally.
The world can't always be in danger because when it is that big of a threat 14 times in a row it looses impact. Scaling it back to a small adventure with comparatively low stakes in the grand scheme of things allows you to have more personal stakes for the characters. Because the world isn't at stake, the possibility of failure is more tangible.
(If the heroes fail to save the world there are very few options left: game over, post apocalypse, or time shenanigans/Deus ex machina. I personally don't recommend the last one because, unless it is handled properly, it can break the audience's immersion)
Allow the characters to fail. It opens up a world of possibilities! How do they deal with failure? Do they try again? Do they try a different approach? What did failure cost them? What happens when success has unintended negative consequences? How do they deal with it?
The small moments are just as important as the action packed ones. They help develop the characters and the world they inhabit. Kitten arcs (because they are happy and fluffy like kittens and I don't know what else to call it ) serve to deescalate the tension so that it can build back up in the next arc.
This has been an unintended essay on why I enjoy character interactions and small scale /small stakes adventures in stories.

Okay so from context I’m thinking either she:
A: Killed him from frustration orrr
B: She killed other people and then he had to be the one to kill her maybe? Might be wrong but I guess we’ll see!!

Oh no.
Finriel nooooooo!
I mean, I'm not sure this is the kind of thing he should've brought up at this moment... but still, yikes Finriel. I am concerned now.
