Deciding there is no other option, you choose to follow the path, since it must be some sign of a civilization who could potentially help you somewhere right? While following the path, you hear rustling in a nearby bush, quickly you turn and acting your toughest yell

'Who's there?!'

A high pitched voice replies

'Woah woah woah calm down partner its just your good ol friendly goblin, Derk!

From the bush out walked a small green humanoid figure one could only describe as well... A goblin. He was small, just barley being able to see over your knee, and he was wearing rags, with a hood and some padding over his body, making use of a small utility belt to carry a tiny dagger and two empty bottles along with a pouch.

'What the hell is going on, goblins?!' You shouted at the figure stood in front of you.

'hmm, what are you sayin it like that for, never seen a goblin before buster?!' Derk replied with a tone of sarcasm, half joking half serious, looking at you with a puzzled expression.

'N-no this isn't normal, goblins don't exist!' You exclaim to him, he looks even more puzzled before replying,

'You sure are funny humanoid, but how have you not seen a goblin before?'

Shaking your head you attempt to make sense of the situation, recalling that you went to bed, and then woke up here, hearing this, Derks face lit up a little.

'So you're one of those, uh how unfortunate, you see humanoid, some of the other humanoids that rumors' go on about say that they one day just teleported here from another world with no idea how! You must be one of those, I have always wanted to meet one, my absolute sincerest pleasure!' Derk exclaimed with a beaming look on his face sticking his hand to shake yours out.

You knelt down and shook his hand before asking for help, Derk replied,

'Hmm ok sure humanoid, I will accompany you through this forest and take you to the nearby town, because it would be unfortunate if something was to transform you this early!

'Transform...?' You thought to yourself before nodding and following him through the forest.
