Description
Well, add 4 more days of working on it, and this be what you get...Since I promised, here's the characters. Keep in mind- some of them are NOT my creations, but they had no names, so I named them. Feel free to read about them, or not, as you see fit.:
Taizou Hori/Dig Dug: The hero of the game. After returning home to his old farm, he found the crops gone, and one lone pooka eating the last of his flowers. He chased this pooka right down to the center of the Earth in a murderous rage, and now he's stuck in the middle of a huge conflict between the Pookas and Fygars.
Susumu Hori/Mr. Driller: Dig Dug's son. This little tyke followed his father, and is willing to help him out in any way he can.
No real name yet/Mrs. Dig Dug(The female in the purple/green suit.): Dig Dug's wife, and none too shabby a monster hunter herself. She's got a lot of seperate missions she's got to complete.
No real name yet/ Dug Dig(The one with the mustache and black/white suit.): The Wario to Dig Dug's Mario, this guy keeps on causing trouble for our heroes.
Pico(The pooka with the blue goggles): This guy is pretty friendly and willing to offer information and stuff.
Naps(The purple guy who's asleep): A rather dimwitted monster. This guy tends to fall asleep at times. He's also slow and easy to kill.
Pookapiller(The catipiller guy): A monster who is always hungry, vicious, and ill tempered.
Unicorner(The yellow guy with the horn): Charges you whenever he sees you.
Pooka(You know what it looks like- cute): A subterranian creature wearing googles. Be careful- they may be cute, but their stingers are deadly.
Lavabeast(The goo monster next to the pooka.): A shapeshifting monster whos meer touch could reduce anything to a pile of ashes.
Fygar(The Dragon): These guys are able to breathe fire. They are also the local bullies of the underground world.
Mechafygar(the robot dragon): a new secret weapon. Practically unstoppable.
Boombot (The battery-like guy): A robot that explodes when you pop it. Can take out anybody in its blast radius.
Excavator(The bomberman-like robot.): A robot driller that's armed with a pump of it's own and can give Dig Dug a dose of his own medicine if your not careful.
Princess Bik(The baby dragon): Future ruler of the fygars, she's kind of a spoiled brat.
Pacdude (Try to find him- he's there.): Huh? What's a Pac Man guy doing in a Dig Dug world?

Well, my basic take on Dig Dug's design is based on my favorite version of him from the game manual art drawn by someone named Gus Allen... He also inspired my ideas on how the pookas look (those hairs) and how some of the fygars look (Fygars always scared me, so I also make sinister-looking ones as well as the goofy ones from Gus's pic.)

Also, Dig Dug looks like his skin's blue in the game, and nobody else draws him with blue skin...

I kind of come up with fancomics for Dig Dug a lot... Currently, I'm working on one where Dig Dug plays the Crocodile Hunter with a Fygar...

Cool- never got a request for Dig Dug fanart before(Sometimes I think I'm the only one who actually regularly draws the little digger anymore.). I'll see about doing that.
Which particular Fygar you want him popping? The robot one(Mechafygar), the baby one(Princess Bik.) or the halfway vicious/halfway goofy one(Just one of an infinite number of fygar designs I have... You should see the two I drew that were inspired by Pinky and the Brain.)?

I love Dig Dug... I'm a really big fan... I dunno why I have not done any fan art yet. I also love Mappy, Peter Packrat, Mr. Mouse (made by the same folks who did Naughty Boy -- Mr. Mouse had a flamethrower), Frisky Tom, and Mouse Trap (nice cabinet art) too... toon rodents are awesome.

Nice to meet a fellow Dig Dug fan. I myself created Mrs. Dig Dug, and Dug Dig as fan characters, as well as a few theories as to why D.D.'s trying to pop something as cute as a pookah.
I'll try drawing him against all those baddies(You know, I've done so much Dig Dug fanart, and only two pictures that have the characters blowing anyone up... Gotta fix that)- Besides: Dig Dug's gotta get revenge on Bik for THIS [link]

Yeah, I kind of figured that Pac Man had Pac Man World, meanwhile all poor Dig Dug had was that stupid Dig Dug Deeper game where he had a Buzz Lightyear Superchin.

Well, in the origional game, he WAS blue, and a lot of people said he looked like a smurf.
(I guess it was a color pallet problem, as he's also been shown as having snow white skin, red skin, and normal caucasian skin.)

Thanks. I actually have several ideas for Fygar designs ranging from "Goofy" to "Scary". I think this guy is about one or two notches below the ultimate scary design.
