Description
Turns out, Andrew was a good cook. We ate some fruit he found on the island and also some lamb. We sat by the fire and ate in silence, but before I took a single bite, I scrapped off half of my lamb into the fire and muttered, “To Poseidon, please help me understand” . When the food landed in the flames I immediately smelled my foster mom’s homemade brownies.“What you do that for?” Andrew asked as he watched me.
“It’s an offering to the gods.” I said, sitting back down to eat my dinner.
“Why though?”
“I worship the Greek gods, Poseidon mainly, but it’s best to do so for the other gods too.” I said matter-of-factly.
“Sooooooooo how can your bracelet bring weapons like that?”
“To tell you the truth….I don’t even know. It was just a gift from a loyal friend of mine.”
We finished the rest of our meal in peace and when we finished, the plates just disappeared. Andrew slept in the corner letting me have the spot by the fire. Right when I was about to doze off into slumber I said, “¾ðíï êáé ç ïéêïãÝíåéÜ ìïõ.” This meant, sleep well my family, in Greek.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I woke up with a start because in my dream, I saw Percy and Annabeth by the beach being attacked by a bloodhound and it’s NOT Percy’s dog. I scrambled out to Andrew and tried to wake him up. I needed to help Percy.
“Dang èá îõðíÞóåé Andrew!” I shouted. I tend to talk in Greek when I’m scared, tired, or angry.
After a couple of shouts I finally kicked him in the nose which got him sitting up quickly.
“OW Hanna why’d you do that?!?” He yelled at me, rubbing his nose.
“Sorry but MY BROTHER IS BEING ATTACKED RIGHT NOW SO I NEED YOU TO OPEN THE DOOR AND LET ME GO!!!” I shouted at him with anger and fear in my voice.
He immediately scooped me into his hand and stood up, opening the stone door and started running down the mo-wait he lived in a mountain!?!?!
“Where is he?” he asked having to hold me in a fist in order for me not to fall down.
“The spot where you found Percy, Annabeth, and me.” I shouted.
He wasted no time and after a few minutes we reached the location. Percy and Annabeth were cornered to the cliff by the bloodhound. Andrew deposited me on the ground as he looked for something to hit the bloodhound with. I however ran straight to the creature, sword at hand, and slashed at it. It howled in pain and turned its attention to me. I smiled as I gracefully avoided its attacks giving my own in the process. All was well until Percy ran to attack the bloodhound from behind. The bloodhound saw him though and sent him sprawling to the cliff wall.
“PERCY!!!” Annabeth and I cried. She ran to him when he didn’t move. Boy was I mad. I willed a wave to take away the bloodhound and right when it was close enough, I jabbed my sword into its heart. It turned into dust returning to the Underworld, from where it came.
“Put him in the water.” I cried as I dragged Percy with Annabeth to the ocean.
Once he was in, his cut immediately healed though he stayed unconscious.
“You can bring him to my home if you want.” Andrew said suddenly appearing.
Annabeth was about to draw out her knife but I stopped her.
“Trust him.” Was all I said. She looked at me for a minute with her grey eyes and then nodded her head as she watched Andrew pick Percy up with great care and placed him into his many pockets.
