Description
The two girls didn't shiver as they stepped off of the train and into the crisp Detroit air.One girl wore a black hooded coat stiffened when a breeze blew past them and instantly placed a pair of headphones over her ears.
The only thing visible of her face was from her nose down.
"Jess? Do you have the directions to the warehouse?" she asked, her voice soft as a gentle breeze with a light New Yorker accent.
It would've been a miracle to have heard her in the noisy city but not surprisingly Jess, the young redhead next to her, was able to.
Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a slip of paper with one hand and a cigarette from her other pocket. As she studied the notes carefully written notes, she slipped the white and brown stick between her lips ,and after quickly checking, she snapped her fingers, igniting the end before inhaling.
"The place is kinda far off from here." she said in a thick Cajun accent, "But it's pretty close to the markets and to Sundac Towers."
"Hopefully we'll have better luck here Cher." the red head finished before slinging her duffel bag over her shoulder.
All the hooded one did was nod her head and tugged her bag closer to herself.
Jess glanced over at her and her gaze softened slightly.
"It WILL be better here Crys," she said, taking her hand, "I'll make sure of it.....I promise."
The moment she said those words a green light wrapped around the red head's ring finger before fading.
"So it is said so shall it be." Crys, the hooded girl, finally spoke.
With nothing else needed to be said, the two headed off into the city for their new lives, hoping that they would be able to stay here much longer than others.
