Description
Here is Quasimodo from "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame." Born to a Gypsy mother who is tragically killed after Frollo yanks the infant Quasi from her arms; Quasimodo is raised believing that his mother abandoned him because of his deformity and that his guardian Frollo took him in out of the goodness of his heart. Raised inside of the belltower of the Notre Dame cathedral, Quasi ventures outside during The Festival Of Fools. Where he falls in love, is made King Of Fools, tortured, and humilated all in the same day. Distraught, Quasi retreats and only begins to emerge from his shell again when the gypsy Esmeralda sees past his appearance and befriends him. Because of her kindness, Quasi helps Esmeralda escape the cathedral and she repays him with a woven band and a kiss on the cheek. Feeling hopeful for the first time, Quasi is again left heartbroken when Esmeralda falls for Phoebus. However, in the end, Quasi is accepted into society and loved for who he is.
