Description She stopped me on the street and asked me for a quarter, I gave her some change and asked her if I could take her picture. I have mixed feelings about it now - I wonder if she bought food with it (like she said she would), or if I was just helping her further a habit. I also feel a little guilty for taking her picture, I wonder sometimes if it was pushing an ethical boundary to give her money, and then ask to take a photo. It happened so quickly that I didn't find myself asking these questions until I had walked a few blocks down the street.

I think it show courage as a photographer, wheather it be etical or not, which my personal opinion is that you did nothing wrong by taking her photo, If anything it was a good thing, because now she is someone to someone, who knows if she was before? Even if its a subject in a photography, that may be more than she had before. I say good job to you for doing it. You shouldnt feel guilty.

well... i don't know... after all you didn't asked her to be photographed in exchange for your spare change, she could have easily refused as she already had your money so, well, no "exploitation" here...

it's a nice picture, maybe to close to the right margin, but still well done...
