Road Runner debuted in 1949 in the cartoon "Fast and Furry-ous," along with Wile E. Coyote. The two became famous for Coyote's back-firing inventions and Road Runner's clever getaways. Road Runner and Coyote soon became popular in the Looney Tunes world. One of their cartoons, "Beep Prepared," won an Academy Award in 1961. Later, the duo got their own show. "The Road Runner Show," which was later called "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour," debuted in 1966.
