This character was made by the Godfather of anime and Manga, Osamu Tezuka from his series Dr.Black Jack. Pinoko also known as Penny in the English dub of the 1980's Astro Boy cross over episode apparently used to be a parasite but was made into a human girl by Blackjack and is his assistance/daughter though she claims to be 18 years old and his wife. I suppose she's like a human Pinocchio since her name is similar to the wooden puppet.
