Honestly, it's hard for me to answer this considering I barely know what i'm doing myself & still have a TON to learn; but personally I find that doing lineless art has helped me improve a TON with everything I do!
My process to do lineless is:
- (Sometimes) sketch
- New layer, outline the entire sketch in grey & fill it in
- New layer(s), clip over the grey silhouette & color/define details ontop of it
but for stuff like shading? i honestly just wing it and hope it works. and i thinkkk it does???? sometimes???
