After some 9 years of flying for Garuda, Samantha is considered to be experienced and senior enough to serve as a trainer and mentor for an all-cadet crew flight. Basically on these types of flights, Samantha will be entirely crewed by young trainees as part of their last training. Samantha will guide and grade the cadets and her judgement will be part of their grades and it will determine if they pass their training or not.

Here, they're a few hours before they depart on the last leg of their all-cadet flight. Which also happens to be their final all-cadet flight before they graduate training.

For the cadet captain, unfortunately, he might've just jinxed it with that can of soda pop.
